A 30-year-old male patient visited me with complaints of various allergies, including milk, wheat, pollution, and others. He experienced abdominal pain and frequent urination, accompanied by significant weight loss (approximately 25 kg in past 1 year). Even simple foods caused discomfort. Constant sneezing in the mornings and evenings necessitated the use of a mask.
Initially, I prescribed Homoeopathic medications on bases of presented symptoms. He responded positively for two weeks. Subsequently, we transitioned to a treatment plan aimed at increasing his food tolerance. However, he developed a severe allergic reaction to this medication, exacerbating symptoms such as a cold and fever, which rendered him debilitated.
An antidote was administered immediately, it took him 2-3 days to recover from the allergic reaction. Subsequently, I identified & prescribed the medications that would suit him. With these medications, he has increased tolerance towards milk and wheat, and he can now consume wheat and milk in small quantities and has regained approximately 1 kg of weight. though a long way to go. His sneezing is also reduced considerably.
Conclusion: Allergic reactions to homoeopathic medicines are rare but possible. It needs years of experience and an honest approach to deal with such cases.
